Lunar New Year: Year Of The Water Rabbit

Lunar New Year: Year Of The Water Rabbit

Saying goodbye to the Tiger, we enter the Year of the Rabbit on January 22, 2023.

The sign of Rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in Chinese culture and 2023 is predicted to be a year of hope.

The year falls under the water sign, and though water, one of five elements in the cycle, can be a powerful force, it can also be seen through a more Daoist lens that implies going with the flow rather than fighting it.

The years are further classified as one of two sides of the yin yang symbol and this year is considered yin, and, compared to its light, more active counterpart, emphasizes the importance of rest.

Energy: Yin

Season: Spring

Element: Wood

This year, we are in a "Water Rabbit" year, also known as a "Black Rabbit" as in Chinese traditional culture, the color of water is actually black.

Wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year! May the year of the Rabbit bring you a year of health, happiness and prosperity.
